A New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Book of 2011! A picture-book delight by a rising talent tells a cumulative tale with a mischievous twist. Features an audio read-along! The bear’s hat is gone, and he wants it back. Patiently and politely, he asks the animals he comes across, one by one, whether they have seen it. Each animal says no, some more elaborately than others. But just as the bear begins to despond, a deer comes by and asks a simple question that sparks the bear’s memory and renews his search with a vengeance. Told completely in dialogue, this delicious take on the classic repetitive tale plays out in sly illustrations laced with visual humor-- and winks at the reader with a wry irreverence that will have kids of all ages thrilled to be in on the joke.

Open this book at any page, be inspired by its wisdom, and laugh out loud at its humor and common sense. Through the practice of yoga and mindfulness, you begin to tune into your body and identify and let go of unnecessary holding on. You discover inside the tense, unbalanced body a sensible body, which can be effortlessly at ease with energy flowing freely and the mind becoming calm. Each posture is a prayer, an intention to open to the law of the universe and let go of your conditioning. They say it runs in the family; it only runs because we let it. Yoga is not only on the mat; its also what you do going about your ordinary daily life. Whether youre in the office, on a crowded bus, or in your car stuck in a traffic jam, you can connect to your breath. Its never too late or too early to start and continue aligning mind, body, and spirit. We find it hard to keep going with a practice thats beneficial to us. May we encourage each other, wishing all of us who are confused, feel not good enough, or are not able to stick to our good intentions, to give it a go and never give up.

Yoga Stories for Kids: A Path for Resilience and Growth can be used by therapists, teachers, and parents to help elementary school aged children safely express and explore such issues as loss, fear, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, bullying, friendships, and identity. The stories, which are integrated with movement, Yoga, and art experiences, offer various paths to overcome obstacles, develop coping skills, and build hope and resilience in a way that is non-threatening and relatable to children. This book is divided into three main sections: 1) Yoga poses, which can be taught prior to the reading of the stories to familiarize the children with the movement; 2) Six stories for primary elementary age children (K through 2nd grade); and 3) Nine stories for intermediate elementary aged children (3rd through 5th grade). At the end of each story, there are questions for further discussion, coloring pages for the primary elementary age group, and mandalas for the intermediate age group.
