This is a searching perceptive examination of the fifty years of Dr. Mitchell’s service as preacher in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church ministry and a scholar in the church and university, how she was led into this dual profession, how she survived in it as a Black woman, how social movements and changes in the society impacted her life and ambitions, and most of all how God was always working in her life over more than eight decades, guiding, directing, sustaining her and enabling her to achieve His purposes for her life, thereby getting the glory out of her life for the good of her family, others, friends, and the church and society.
