Bingham believes, however, that Knox needs to make the Lands attractive to purchasers for Establishments. Bingham says he is trying to Experiment on a large Scale, with the lower Tract. Tells Knox that the sooner these land deals are sorted out, the better.

Received Knox's recent letter and regrets the news that he omitted a bond he meant to send Knox; he sends it along now (not present). Discusses their land purchase deal with Mr. [possibly Alexander] Baring. Explains at great length the details of their land projects, and refers to the Committee's newest legislation on the subject.

Also mentions [Francois] de Liancourt's new living arrangements in South Carolina.

Reports that General [Henry] Jackson's being out of town prevents them from concluding negotiations with Mr. [Alexander] Baring. Briefly asks a question about the legislature.
