The purpose of this report is to relate some of the activities and accomplishments of the Division of Wildlife Research in 1971. Wildlife is important to a very large and growing number of people today, with increased environmental awareness and burgeoning human populations. Interest in wildlife ranges from purely aesthetic through recreational and economic, to the purely scientific considerations. All of these interests are valid and are compelling reasons for the nation to look to its wildlife heritage.

A bibliography comprising annotated citations of 2037 scientific and technical publications from ten series issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Includes a six-page introduction containing a history of the Service and a description of the research and development series.
