Best known for his popular Western novels, American author Zane Grey has often been called the "Homer of the West." His novels influenced many subsequent writers in the Western genre and provided the raw material for dozens of popular Western films. This work provides an index of the major and minor characters in Zanes Western novels and short fiction. Organized alphabetically by character, the index provides a brief summary of each character and includes a complete list of the novels or short stories in which they appear. In many cases, the author also provides an analysis of the characters thematic significance within Greys Western fiction as a whole.
