During the 19th century, death shadowed daily life. A high infant mortality rate, poor sanitation, risk during childbirth, poisons, ignorance, and war kept 19th-century Americans busy practicing the ritual of mourning. The Victorian era in both Europe and America saw these rituals elevated to an art form expressing not only grief, but also religious feeling, social obligation, and even mourning fashion. Complete with period illustrations, Widow's Weeds and Weeping Veils explores how Victorians viewed death and dying as a result of the profound historical events of their time. This concise, informative work is ideal for students of Victorian-era culture and Civil War enthusiasts.

When she reached out for her husband, it was God who touched her. The widow brings before her Lord all that she has, and places it on the altar. God blesses her mite into a strength she could not have imagined, and gives her "The Widow's Might" to live once again; abundantly, in victory and grace.

Far too many believers are not fulfilling the purpose they were created for. God has an inheritance or destiny for all His children, but it is up to them to recognize and accept that inheritance. You were created for so much more, and the enemy knows that. It is through lies and deceit that the devil has confused God's children and distorted their true identity. It is time the church today rediscovers their true identity in Christ and completely steps into their destiny. Living in the Promise offers its readers sound biblical insight and teaching that will help readers inherit their birthright and fully embrace the promises of God. "So many times as believers we fall short of living day by day in the promises of God. This is a very honest book by Peggy of her struggles to find and walk in those promises." - Pastor Mardy Dunlop, Karmel City Church, Belfast, Northern Ireland "As people read Living in the Promise, they will grow in their confidence and assurance that God will speak to them and also use them to do mighty exploits in these last days for His glory!" - Pastor Michele Horvath Calvary Lighthouse Church, Rochelle, Illinois "Peggy's book is filled with great wells of wisdom that come directly from God's word, you will be stirred to go dig deeper into these wells for yourself and you will be greatly rewarded." - Steve & Christie Owings, Pastors of Living Water Church, Lafayette and Frederick, Colorado

The purpose of this study is to identify and develop appreciation for the theme of the reversal of weeping in Luke’s gospel. Lukan scholarship has not fully recognized the reversal of weeping as a distinctive theme. By understanding Luke’s third beatitude (6:21b) and third woe (6:25b) as two pegs on which the theme of the reversal of weeping is hung, it proposes that the reversal of weeping is a distinctive theme in Luke. In doing so, Luke repetitively uses κλαίω to highlight the theme. This technique of Leitwort leads readers to focus on the reversal of weeping more effectively. Luke’s presentation of the reversal of weeping is not limited to identifying it as a distinctive theme. There are narrative intentions and theological implications that Luke also targets. First, Luke wants to demonstrate concern for marginalized groups in society. He also shows how their fortunes are reversed by Jesus. Second, Luke portrays Jesus as the promised prophet, describing him as like Elijah and Jeremiah, but superior to them. Finally, Luke provides the reversal of weeping as a significant phenomenon of the kingdom of God, particularly to show that the presence of God’s kingdom is inaugurated and realized in Jesus Christ.
