Dry-direct seeded rice (DSR) is an emerging resource-conserving and climate-smart production technologies in the changing climatic condition and the areas where the key resources such as water and labor are the major limiting factors to rice cultivation. The success of DSR largely depends on its proper early establishment and judicious weed management. A uniform stand of adequate rice plants is critical to achieving high yields, therefore seed rate and sowing date are very important for DSR.
