This study is a content/critical analysis of various forms of popular media in an attempt to look at two themes in vigilantism (self-appointed protector vigilantism vs. revenge-based vigilantism) in real life and in fiction. This study will contribute to the existing body of scholarly research on vigilantism by providing an in-depth look at some of the more realistic fictional vigilantes to see how accurately they reflect contemporary reality.
