All of my family of origin passed away by 2001, but in 2017, I looked at the massive paper trail left by my grandmother, mother, and father. For the first time, I discovered that the story of my adoption did not match the mountain of evidence set before me. I believe that the circumstantial evidence points to one conclusion: that I am an illegitimate daughter of the deposed shahanshah ("king of kings") of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This startling discovery caused me to ask myself this question: What would I think of myself if I really were the daughter of the Shah of Iran?

Seven Keys that will open the Book of Revelation to the Jesus follower of the first century and the twenty-first century with practical application and life lessons. This study cuts through the confusion and honors the library of Scripture through the ages. Writing on the Revelation of Jesus Christ is not just a daunting challenge but a humbling experience. The Scriptures are clear that there is nothing new under the sun; and I do not think my efforts are so unique as having not been considered before now. But I do hope to reintroduce The Revelation and this reality of a fresh and possibly renewed perspective into the conversation. My motive is to bring Gods amazing disclosure back into the Christian conversation devotionally and practically. I dont want to just make a point, I want to make a difference.

"In SigHT, Dr. Amanishakete Ani takes an introspective look at the thought and behavioral processes of African American students who apparently have many of the answers to what must be done to end achievement problems in the community, and restore success and dignity back to the Pan African community. In addition to intensive interviews of six junior high school achievers, historical analyses that relate to contemporary problems in education and society are provided. It is conclued that hope for the future depends on cultural and social awareness, not better school districts or even teacher quality.--page 4 of cover

Do you feel like you have to settle for a life of duty? Many women feel pressure to strive to be the women they "ought" to be, often living with the sense that they’ve failed. Sadly, too many messages for Christian women do nothing but add to the pressure: "Do these ten things, and you will be a godly woman." The effect has not been good on the feminine soul. But her heart is still there. Every woman was once a little girl. And every little girl holds in her heart her most precious dreams. She longs to be swept up into a romance, to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure, to be the beauty of the story. Those desires are far more than child's play. They are the secret to the feminine heart. Staci Eldredge wrote Captivating to share that your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. Throughout this study guide, you will: Learn how to guard the most important thing about you...your heart. Find courage to walk away from the ways we live out of fear. Let God tenderly open our wounds to set us free. Fight the right enemy, which is not men. And it's not women. Possess a beauty that is worth pursuing. Our wounds reveal what we are meant to bring to the world. The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel are telling you of the life God created you to live. Really. He offers to come now, as the Hero of your story--to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. A woman who is truly captivating. Sessions include: The Heart of a Woman Fallen Eve The Wound and the Healer A Special Hatred Beauty to Unveil Your Irreplaceable Role Designed for use with the Captivating Updated Video Study available on DVD or streaming video, sold separately.

Written in a theopoetic key, this book challenges Christian reliance on the motif of promise, especially where promise is regarded as a prerequisite for the experience of hope. It pursues instead an unpromising hope available to the agnostic or belief-fluid members and leaders of faith communities. The book rejects any theological judgement about doubt and hopelessness being sinful. It also rejects any hope which is grounded in a sense of Christian supremacy. Chapter 1 focuses on Ernst Bloch’s antifascist concept of utopian surplus, putting Bloch in conversation with queer theorist José Esteban Muñoz and womanist theologian M. Shawn Copeland. Chapter 2 explores the saudadic and theopoetic hope of Rubem Alves. Chapter 3 turns to the womanist theologies of Delores Williams, Emilie Townes, and A. Elaine Brown Crawford. Finally, chapter 4 engages the post-colonial eschatology of Vítor Westhelle, framing hope as nearby in space, rather than nearby in time. Each chapter offers an unpromising hope that may be tapped into by those who wish to affirm belief-fluidity in their own communities, and by those who wish to speak of hope honestly, whether or not, at any given moment, they believe in God or in the promises of a god.
