This book is an in-depth look at a hot new Windows-based technology--thin clients that reduce total cost of ownership by moving applications and administrative functions from the desktop to the server. This radical technology lets machines in the "dumb terminal" category run sophisticated Windows software, minus the costs and headaches of traditional PCs.

A thin client is a Network Computer that runs Windows programs, providing the infrastructure that enables an Intranet to reach its full potential. The benefits of thin client computers are the comparatively low cost and the ability to manage these machines centrally, providing convenience and efficiency. Employees who need computers but don't use them intensively can use thin clients to access corporate databases and corporate publishing through a Web browser, for email, for word processing, and even for GroupWare. This is a straightforward book that will be useful to officers, executives, supervisors, and many others who wish to implement and use thin clients on an Intranet.

Thin Client like never before. A lean customer (sometimes as well named a slant either thin client) is a computer either a computer programme that relies deeply on a few different computer (its server) to achieve its data processing parts. This is dissimilar as of the customary large customer, that is a computer developed to take on those parts by its normal self. The concrete parts presumed by the server might differ, as of delivering information perseverance (for illustration, for diskless nodes) to real data handling on the client's behalf. There has never been a Thin Client Guide like this. It contains 280 answers, much more than you can imagine; comprehensive answers and extensive details and references, with insights that have never before been offered in print. Get the information you need--fast! This all-embracing guide offers a thorough view of key knowledge and detailed insight. This Guide introduces what you want to know about Thin Client.
