Provides a list of the species of vascular plants, lichens, and bryophytes that have been recorded in surveys at Fundy National Park to the end of 1995. The herbarium and its use at the park is described, along with the method used for plant sample preparation and storage and an explanation of the codes used in the list to identify the plants. Information in the lists includes plant name (Latin and common name), habitat, locality found, and taxonomic classification.

This report is an introduction to the results of a five-year co-operative study into the feasibility of using moths as biological indicators of ecosystem health in Fundy National Park, New Brunswick. The report describes the moth sampling methodology used, describes and maps the sampling site locations, and provides details of the floristic composition of the sites. Study results presented demonstrate the patterns of seasonal distributions of both individuals and species, and the pattern of species emergence throughout the year for each of four years at two of the sites. Based on the similarities in the patterns between and within sites and years, a protocol for conducting further moth surveys is also proposed. Appendices include tables showing vegetation species composition at the study sites and graphs showing numbers of individual moths and species observed in research traps.

Identifies and describes spatially restricted and ecologically significant community types that occur within the 420,000-hectare Fundy Model Forest of south-eastern New Brunswick. The purpose is to draw attention to the presence of these biotic features within the Model Forest and highlight their contribution to the biodiversity of the area. These features are often overlooked when designing landscape-level forest management strategies and, without special management, they are vulnerable to species loss. Twenty-four fine-scale community types are identified, including remnant patches of late successional forest, rock face communities, talus slopes, shorelines, and caves. Habitat features, general location, characteristic biota, and all known uncommon and rare species are given for each community type. Past human disturbance history, when known, and existing and future threats are also discussed.
