Love addiction manifests in many forms, from Fatal Attraction-type obsessive lust to less extreme but nonetheless psychologically and emotionally harmful forms. The most common of these is staying in a bad relationship because of a fear of being alone-the "I hate you but don't leave me" relationship. In ADDICTION TO LOVE, recovering love addict Susan Peabody explains the variety of ways this disorder plays out, from the obsessively doting love addict to the addict who can't disentangle from an unfulfilling, dead-end relationship. Peabody provides an in-depth and easy-to-follow recovery program for those suffering from this unhealthy and often dangerous addiction and explains how to create a loving, safe, and fulfilling relationship. • A seminal work on unhealthy and obsessive behaviors in love, and how to change behavior to have a positive relationship. This third edition includes a new introduction and revisions to the text throughout. • Some symptoms of love addiction include love at first sight, excessive fantasizing, abnormal jealousy, nagging, and accepting dishonesty. • Even relationships with parents, children, siblings, or friends may be addictive-dependency is not always related to romantic love. • Previous editions have sold more than 40,000 copies. "Love addiction is a three-headed serpent that Susan Peabody adeptly slays. This is the quintessential book for any love addict or counselor needing to fully understand this highly prevalent and complex disorder. Susan detects and dissects aspects of this condition not comprehended in other books of its kind. Recovery is possible. This book makes it possible to take the succinct steps necessary toward a loving and reciprocal long-term intimate relationship." —Sudi Scull, M.F.T., C.N., psychotherapist and nutritionist

America, one of the most religious countries in the world, is also the most violent. Do God and war define the American spirit as much as apple pie and baseball? This unsettling book illustrates how bellicose, war-like language is used to explain the spiritual quest. It explores the violence of God tradition as it exists in all religions (including Buddhism), and then examines how this dynamic is flipped, with political leaders using spiritual and religious language to sell war to the general public. Although God and religion have often been used to sell war in the United States, this has been especially true since 9/11. After surveying the relationship of war and the spiritual quest in the major world religions, this study concludes with an overview of how that dynamic has affected the contemporary American public discourse on war. Does this intermingling of war and spirituality prepare the population for the coming of war? The institutional blending of the sacred and human aggression appear to be fundamental to human society. The second section of the book concentrates on the political language and speeches of American politicians since 2002, following the run-up to the Iraq war and its continuation over the past decade, showing how this mystical/war conflation permeates American society.

Can a murdered person come back from the grave to tell her autobiography through the voice of a psychic medium? During the summer of 1980, a young Canadian beauty, Dorothy Stratten, and her husband, Paul Snider, were murdered in Los Angeles under mysterious circumstances and a shroud of cover-up. Many lives would change drastically as people abandoned the Playboy ship en masse in the aftermath. This book offers theological insight into sexual abuse, hedonism, PTSD trauma, stress-related illness, human trafficking, codependence and forgiveness.

"Deeply immersed in the close-knit culture of long-distance running, Pam and Bob Bulik were avid competitors. To all appearances, they were also a happily married couple, devoted to each other and their two young children. Then Bob made a fateful decision. He began an extramarital affair that led to his wife's tragic death and to one of the most sensationalized and heavily attended trials in Green Bay's history." --Cover.

remember coming to Earth. I know this sounds crazy, but I do remember and I cannot deny it! I've never met anyone else who remembers coming to Earth, until a few years ago, when I came across a book written by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, wherein, he too remembered coming to Earth. God has always seemed so real to me - I felt like I knew him. I waited in a long line, along with many people or spirits, and was excited when it was finally my turn! It was considered special in the spiritual realm to have the privilege of being wrapped in an earthly body to come to Earth! Even if the body was crippled or maimed, it was still a privilege. I was so excited about my arrival, I said, "Oh, Lord, send me to a troubled family, and I'll tell them all about you and how much you love them. I know as soon as I tell them how much you mean, how wonderful you are, and what a great Lord you are, they will love you just like I do! Oh, please send me. I will not lose my way, I promise!" He said, "Oh, believe me you will lose your way. Everyone does, but I promise you this: you will always find your way home." Well, the next thing I knew, I was here. I had no idea what was in store for me. I had made contracts with certain people, and now I had to live up to those agreements. I was here on Earth all right, and I was in a real cozy family. The journey had just begun.
