En este nuevo volumen del Tratado de estudios organizacionales, titulado Exploración de las temáticas, continuamos la traducción de The Sage Handbook of Organization Studies (2006), cuya primera parte se publicó en 2017. Al igual que ese primer volumen, esta traducción va acompañada de comentarios y reflexiones, desde la realidad latinoamericana, que abordan problemáticas tradicionales y contemporáneas; y cuenta, además, con tres nuevos capítulos que complementan las temáticas que se desarrollan en la actualidad en torno al estudio de las organizaciones. Se constituye, entonces, en un aporte al debate sobre cómo construir, desde nuestro contexto local, un lenguaje propio de los estudios organizacionales.

Este tratado de estudios organizacionales es la traducción de la segunda edición de The Sage Handbook of Organization Studies (2006) y forma parte del diálogo que en América Latina se viene gestando en torno a esta disciplina. Busca superar las barreras del idioma y ampliar la difusión de las propuestas teóricas y metodológicas, y tiene un mérito adicional: incluye reflexiones latinoamericanas relacionadas con las temáticas de los capítulos originales. Estas contribuciones amplían el panorama de este campo disciplinar en la región, evidencian formas particulares de retomar las corrientes principales para elaborar propuestas propias y constituyen un verdadero aporte al conocimiento generado desde Latinoamérica.

Este libro surge institucionalmente en la Red de Estudios Organizacionales de Latinoamérica (REOL) y da cuenta de los desarrollos alcanzados, en esencia, en los siete países cuyas redes hoy la conforman (no se cuenta aquí la red venezolana, dado su muy reciente vinculación). Estos desarrollos son socializados por parte de investigadores seleccionados por esas redes académicas, las cuales se han conformado, de un modo u otro, alrededor del campo de los estudios organizacionales en cada una de estas naciones. Esta obra es el resultado de un prometedor ejercicio de integración de la comunidad académica latinoamericana interesada en aportar al desarrollo del campo de los estudios organizacionales. En particular, desde la identidad, problemáticas y realidades propias de este contexto, aunque teniendo siempre a la vista el horizonte global.
