A translation of the Koran into English by a native English speaker. Pickthall meant the work to convey the meaning of the Koran rather than to serve as a replacement for reading it in Arabic. He believed that "the Koran cannot be translated". The structure includes a short introduction summarizing the life of Mohammed and explaining the organization of the surahs (in the order that Mohammed preferred them rather than by chronological revelation or by consistent theme). The copy of the Koran that Pickthall used was written in 1246 C.E. by Al-Hajj Muhammad Shakarzâdeh from Turkey.

The Holy Quran literally meaning "the recitation"; also romanized as Qur'an or Koran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from Allah (swt) (God). The Meaning of the Glorious Quran is an English Language translation of the Quran with brief introductions to the Surahs by Marmaduke Pickthall. In 1928, Pickthall took a two-year sabbatical to complete his translation of the meaning of the Quran, a work that he considered the summit of his achievement.

There are about 80,000 words in the Quran but the actual words are only around 2000!!! This could also be termed as one of the many miracles of the Quran. Accordingly, if a reader decides to learn only 10 new words every day, he can understand the basic message of the Quran within a period of seven months!
