By chance he found John Godolphin Bennett, one of the leading exponents of Gurdjieff's 'system', as it was known, and studied for 7 years at the Institute for the Comparative Study of History, Philosophy and the Sciences. Finally in 1957 Subud arrived in England with the arrival of Pak Subuh and his entourage.
