Doreth was born and raised in a Christian environment. Her parents were ardent Christians who taught their household about the mercies of God and his profound love and caring for mankind. Her parents emphasized the importance of studying and memorizing the Holy Scripture. Also writing God's word on the table of their heart with the hope that when older that these words would not depart from them. From her early years, she was overwhelmed with the relationship that the man of God, Enoch, established with God while walking with him as Enoch developed a friendship and bond with God. It was difficult to understand God's patience and profound interest in mankind. Although they exhibited such rebellious behaviour, ingratitude and preferred to worship idols, God contrived means to save and restore man back to him. The chosen whom He called to carry out his plans on earth, some of these men are in this book. As she researched the Holy Scriptures, Doreth was greatly blessed and her spiritual vision was enlightened. She prays that everyone who has chosen to read this book will be spiritually blessed while discovering their purpose for living and experiencing a closer relationship with God. I have written this book to serve as both instructional and meditational with respect to growing closer to God - this is why each of the twenty-six chapters is short in length. In many respects, this is a workbook that will guide you towards a closer walk with God. It will consider topics such as, who I am in Christ, how to exercise spiritual authority, being adopted by God, how to receive a revelation, dealing with spiritual warfare, drawing closer to God, praying in the Spirit - and many more related topics. You might want to read one short chapter each evening before you retire, so that you might give yourself the opportunity to meditate on what God might be speaking to you about concerning each of the topics in the book.

The book shares with its readers relevant and biblical insights as it relates to walking closely with the Lord. It gives clear insight as to what is involved in walking in the power and presence of God.

It was only a few years ago when God shed his light on me and anointed me with the gift of writing poetry. He opened my eyes to understand from the scripture that I read. A powerful message came down from above and descended here on me. The grace of God bestowed on me the special gift that was given.
