Technology of the Gods lays out the mind-bending evidence that long-lost civilizations had attained and even exceeded our "modern" level of advancement. Westerners have been taught that humankind has progressed along a straight-line path from the primitive past to the proficient present, but the hard, fast evidence (literally written in stone!) proves that the ancients had technologies we cannot even replicate today.

What Does God Think about Technology? From smartphones to self-driving cars to space travel, new technologies can inspire us. But the breakneck pace of change can also frighten us. So how do Christians walk by faith through the innovations of Silicon Valley? And how does God relate to our most powerful innovators? To build a biblical theology of technology, journalist and tech optimist Tony Reinke examines nine key texts from Scripture to show how the world's discoveries are divinely orchestrated. Ultimately, what we believe about God determines how we respond to human invention. With the help of several theologians and inventors throughout history, Reinke dispels twelve common myths in the church and offers fourteen ethical convictions to help Christians live by faith in the age of big tech. Biblical, Informed Look at Technology: Written by the author of 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You and Competing Spectacles: Treasuring Christ in the Media Age Gathers Ideas from Industry Experts and Theologians: Interacts with Christian and non-Christian sources on technology and theology including John Calvin, Herman Bavinck, Wendell Berry, and Elon Musk Educational: Discusses the history and philosophy behind major technological innovations

As humans charge up the steep slope of technological innovation, digital age media increasingly shapes our perception of everything--even spiritual matters. The next stage of spiritual development may be the product of a digital interface between our own image of the divine, virtual reality technology that produces real perceptions, and with devices that stimulate areas of the brain associated with spiritual experience. This book explores the influence of digital media on spirituality and the impact of the digital environment on our experience of the spiritual world. The author predicts a future in which digital technology and neuroscience will combine to create a new understanding of the divine. It is critical in this day of discovery and augmented scientific knowledge that we come to an accurate balance of understanding between foundational science and foundational religion. We are facing a technology that is moving at enormous speed. We need to understand the precarious status of humans as we enter and live through the future technology era that is upon us. Humanity could be negatively affected by technology either unintentionally or by design. As we move forward, ethical and moral decisions will be confronted as to how we manage AI (artificial intelligence) robots, avatars, and the huge data-gathering process associated with the tech industries being formulated at this moment. Controversy will rage, but solutions will percolate. The truth is, you and I are "the product" in the new global technology paradigm, and our information will feed AI, "the data-eating beast." Pandora's box is open. Science and technology are leapfrogging forward at an exponential pace. There is no mechanism to stop it...except God! God's children are weighted and wired for spiritual success. True doctrines and ordinances of the Gospel of Christ fortify faith and give Christians hope in His return. Spiritual development and power comes to those who are prepared and willing to stand with Christ. The fuller blessings may be ours in spite of the underlying challenges. Perhaps it is fortunate that we live in the fullness of time and the fast-approaching premillennial era. The righteous will be saved in life or death. Some may be blessed to witness the glorious Second Coming of the Savior.

About the Book: This book is an attempt to show how technology guided by spirituality can lead to happiness, and in the process, it may lead to the understanding of the Universal Consciousness or the Mind of God. The book is divided into three sections. The first section deals with how to make the mind powerful to gain inner peace. A happy and contented mind then sees the world in a different light. The second section dwells on how to improve the environment through technology, so it becomes liveable and sustainable. And the last section is about exploring space — the last frontier which can help in joining the individual with universal consciousness and understanding the mind of God. The book has been inspired by Patanjali’s Yoga sutras where it is shown that a Yogi after attaining supernatural powers can accelerate his path to liberation and everlasting happiness. Investigating the complex interactions between devotional imagery and Church doctrine in the Low Countries during the fifteenth century, this book demonstrates how the pictorial arts intersected with popular religious practice. The author reconstructs the conceptual frameworks underlying the use and production of religious art in this period and provides a more nuanced understanding of the use of images in the process of soul formation. This study delves into the complexity of the early modern system of personal justification and argues that religious images and objects were part of a larger 'Technology of Salvation.' In order to make these connections clearer, the author analyzes selected works by Geertgen tot Sint Jans (Little Gerard at St. John's) and shows how they functioned within their larger social and historical milieu.
