The Small Faces & Other Stories is a trip back in time, charting the rise and fall of one of the Sixties most energetic and successful bands. It is the extraordinary story of how this bold four-piece, led by mercurial cockney Steve Marriot, found fame and then splintered by the end of the decade to evolve into Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, and the Faces fronted by Rod Stewart. Along the way their trademark songs Itchycoo Park, All or Nothing, Stay With Me and Baby I Love Your Way would influence future generations of musicians such as Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene and Blur. By way of anecdote, interview and analysis, Uli Twelker and Roland Schmitt lift the lid on the bands’ complex histories and the explosive characters involved that built one of rock music’s most enduring and successful family trees.

When asked to conjure an impression of the 'typical fighter pilot', you may be inclined to think of the confident, extroverted, gregarious type, rallying his men and flying in the pursuit of victory. George Frederick 'Screwball' Beurling, DSO, DFC, and DFM, certainly achieved more victories than most typical fighter pilots dream of, but in temperament, personality and style, he was a one-off. A devout Christian, teetotaler and non-smoker, Beurling wasn't to be found patronising the local bars with his fellow pilots. Instead, he committed himself solely to the art of aerial combat. His very first missions saw him pursuing lone German fighters that he ultimately destroyed. He was determined to retain focus, noting how the men who did indulge had much briefer and much less effective tours. In Maltese skies he really came into his own, shooting down 27 Axis aircraft in just 14 days. In the month of July 1942, he secured five 'kills' in just four days. In the process he was awarded the DSO, DFC and DFM, along with hero-status amongst his fellow pilots and members of the public. He survived the war, only to be killed three years later whilst landing a transport aircraft following a test flight. This biographical study serves as a tribute to one of the most successful and intriguing fighter pilots of the twentieth century, and should appeal broadly to fans of the genre.

The Rymellan series is back with more lesbian science fiction and romance. Decisions (Rymellan 4) contains three new stories and one previously published story. LOVE DISMISSED When Sheila was accepted into the fighter pilot program but Ruth wasn’t, they knew their love would be tested. After years of infrequently seeing each other, Ruth was finally transferred to the same ship as Sheila. Their relationship thrived, but now Ruth has been transferred to the Rymellan fleet’s newest ship. Sheila is to remain on the Falcon. Will their love survive another separation? THE KILLING OF LIEUTENANT CHRISTINE LEEDS In the story Intervention, Lesley is sexually harassed by Lieutenant Christine Leeds. After Lesley reports the harassment to Interior, Leeds is struck and sent back to the Indoctrination Academy. What happens to adult Rymellans at the academy? And why did a military officer with a stellar record so blatantly violate the Way? Those questions and more will be answered as we follow Leeds from the moment she’s removed from her last meeting with Lesley. This is a novel-length story. IDENTITY CRISIS The triad is eagerly anticipating the birth of its first daughter when the Rymellan ship Osprey encounters an alien vessel heading for Rymel. The Rymellan boarding team makes a shocking discovery—one that strikes at the heart of what it means to be Rymellan and turns what should have been a joyous event for the triad into an agonizing one. This story was previously published as a standalone eBook. FAMILY COMES FIRST With the twins away at the Indoctrination Academy, the triad discusses who will get pregnant with their third daughter. When nobody jumps to do it, Mo volunteers, but with one condition: she will not set foot inside the Reproductive Technology Centre until Les or Jayne commit to carrying their fourth daughter. When neither of her Chosens steps forward, Mo doesn’t understand why Les is shunning her duty. But that isn’t the only issue stressing the triad. Lesley is having problems with a new superior officer, Mo suspects Ann of betraying Andrew, and Jayne receives a shocking letter.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had extraordinary effects on human lives and economies around the world. Many countries have introduced various measures to stop the spread of the virus and preserve human lives and livelihoods. Some commentators have considered these measures extreme, such as the restrictions imposed on people’s movement and lockdown of countries’ borders. While these measures have undoubtedly saved lives and curbed the spread of the deadly virus, they have also produced some unintended legal implications for individuals and businesses, particularly in the areas of contractual obligations, employment relationships, tourism and hospitality, company law, competition law, human rights and the rule of law, protection of vulnerable groups like migrant workers, and access to judicial and legal services. COVID-19 and Business Law: Legal Implications of a Global Pandemic identifies and discusses specific legal challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in these areas and suggests possible ways in which they could be remedied.
