The Screwtape Letters is a Christian apologetic novel. It is written in a satirical, epistolary style and while it is fictional in format, the plot and characters are used to address Christian theological issues, primarily those to do with temptation and resistance to it. The story takes the form of a series of letters from a senior Demon Screwtape to his nephew Wormwood, a Junior Tempter. The uncle's mentorship pertains to the nephew's responsibility for securing the damnation of a British man known only as "the Patient". In The Screwtape Letters, C. S. Lewis provides a series of lessons in the importance of taking a deliberate role in Christian faith by portraying a typical human life, with all its temptations and failings, seen from devils' viewpoints. Lewis wrote the sequel Screwtape Proposes a Toast - a critique of certain trends in British public education (Although Britain calls its major private schools "public schools", Lewis is referring to state schools when he criticizes "public education"). Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was a British novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, lay theologian and Christian apologist. He is best known for his fictional work, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Space Trilogy, and for his non-fiction Christian apologetics, such as Mere Christianity, Miracles, and The Problem of Pain.

"Screwtape Proposes a Toast" by C.S. Lewis is a satirical and thought-provoking work that serves as an addendum to Lewis's earlier masterpiece, "The Screwtape Letters." In this sequel, Lewis revisits the demonic bureaucracy of Hell, presenting the senior demon Screwtape delivering a toast to a group of graduating demons. Through this imaginative and allegorical narrative, Lewis explores themes of human weakness, societal trends, and the subtle ways in which evil can infiltrate everyday life. Screwtape's toast becomes a darkly humorous commentary on the dangers of contemporary ideologies, societal norms, and the erosion of traditional values. This brief yet impactful work offers readers a satirical lens through which to examine the complexities of human behavior and the ever-present temptations that may lead individuals away from a virtuous path. "Screwtape Proposes a Toast" showcases Lewis's keen wit and insightful observations, inviting readers to reflect on the moral challenges of their own time and consider the timeless principles that shape human character.

Mere Christianity is a theological book and is considered a classic of Christian apologetics, the transcripts of the broadcasts originally appeared in print as three separate pamphlets: The Case for Christianity (1942), Christian Behaviour (1943), and Beyond Personality (1944). Lewis, an Anglican, intended to describe the Christian common ground. In Mere Christianity, he aims at avoiding controversies to explain fundamental teachings of Christianity, for the sake of those basically educated as well as the intellectuals of his generation, for whom the jargon of formal Christian theology did not retain its original meaning. Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was a British novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, lecturer, and Christian apologist. He is best known for his fictional work, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Space Trilogy, and for his non-fiction Christian apologetics, such as Mere Christianity, Miracles, and The Problem of Pain.

As One Devil to Another is an astonishing debut work that C. S. Lewis’s biographer and foremost Lewis authority Walter Hooper calls “a stunning achievement, the finest example of the genre of diabolical correspondence to appear since this genre was popularized by C. S. Lewis.” Enter into this chilling and diabolical tale, one that reveals the very tricks and strategies of Hell. Through a series of letters between devils created by Platt, senior devil Slashreap trains his young protégé, Scardagger, to win an individual soul away from Heaven and into their clutches. As the devils plot their way to triumph, they reveal the spiritual dangers and risks we face in today’s society. Their frighteningly accurate perspective on issues such as contemporary technology and sexual mores is interwoven with timeless matters such as the power of prayer, the purpose of suffering, and the promises held out by Heaven . . . and Hell. Destined to become a modern classic, As One Devil to Another is a brilliantly written, deeply unsettling perspective on twenty-first-century society . . . a glimpse of ourselves through the eyes of those who have embraced their underworldly existence.

Although spiritual warfare is a recurring theme in Scripture, it is difficult to find balanced, evangelical treatments of this topic. Drawing on their extensive expertise on this subject, as presented in their previous B&H volume Spiritual Warfare in the Storyline of Scripture, Cook and Lawless aim to equip everyday Christians to understand what Scripture teaches about spiritual warfare and how believers can practically apply these scriptural principles. By doing so, readers can experience victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.
