On November 13, 1969, ten students at Texas State University were suspended for participating in a peaceful protest against the Vietnam War. The only thing Bill Krueger ever wanted to do was play basketball and then, later, coach it. In 1996, when he retired, he was the "Winningest Basketball Coach in the Nation." In 2018, he was honored by the Naismith Hall of Fame. In every aspect of his life, he's been a "Winner." On the outside, he was a gruff man who demanded and received the very best from every player he coached. As the players left his program, however, they noticed a softer side. He became a father-figure and life long friend and supporter. Off the court, Krueger had a winning game, as well. He married the love of his life and raised a loving and devoted family.
