Written in a 'coffee talk' format, this is a VERY helpful book for both the seeker and Bible student. Pastor Greg writes in a style as if he's sitting across from you, talking one to one, fielding your questions about Jesus, as well as, controversial topics. A must-read, aid for everyone's library! In everyone's life there comes a time when they go on a God search, which usually involves listening to "religious experts." You watch CNN's Larry King Live show and a supposed "religious expert" says one thing about what the Bible really says and the very next night a different "expert" states just the opposite. (Most people think, "O.K. What's up with that?") You read about Christians being put in Roman coliseums with lions because they refuse to denounce their King, missionaries in third world countries dying for their faith, study martyrs over the last twenty centuries being killed for "the cause" only to watch stories of TV preachers living lavish lifestyles of jets, limousines and mansions and say to yourself, "What's wrong with this picture?" The Biblical insights to all these relevant questions, especially in a crazy, confusing, 9/11, violent world, are in this no non-sense, straight ahead, "pull no punches" examination of Christianity by Greg Haage, a successful professional musician and recording artist who's now in ministry called to counsel and train others in "the faith" with one goal in mind: Getting people free from "religious works" or "denominational duties" and pointing them to the One who made the footprints in the sand. www.UpFrontMinistries.com

Was America founded on Judeo-Christian principles? Are the Ten Commandments the basis for American law? In the paperback edition of this critically acclaimed book, a constitutional attorney settles the debate about religion's role in America's founding. In today's contentious political climate, understanding religion's role in American government is more important than ever. Christian nationalists assert that our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and advocate an agenda based on this popular historical claim. But is this belief true? The Founding Myth answers the question once and for all. Andrew L. Seidel builds his case by comparing the Ten Commandments to the Constitution and contrasting biblical doctrine with America's founding philosophy, showing that the Declaration of Independence contradicts the Bible. Thoroughly researched, this persuasively argued and fascinating book proves that America was not built on the Bible and that Christian nationalism is un-American. Includes a new epilogue reflecting on the role Christian nationalism played in fomenting the January 6, 2021, insurrection in DC and the warnings the nation missed.

Pope Nicolas V issued a Papal Bull in 1452 mandating the enslavement of Black Africans in the name of Christianity. On August 23, 1619, twenty Africans arrived in Jamestown, Virginia. It is noteworthy that these twenty Africans were neither Christians, nor were they slaves prior to boarding that slave ship. There is no evidence of how many Africans actually boarded that ship with them and didn't survive the trip. The facts are clear however, upon arrival in Jamestown, Virginia these twenty Africans were forced to become Christians and they were enslaved. Today, 401 years later, their descendants are still Christians and still enslaved. -The Author For years I have heard us (Afrikans/Blacks to include myself) ask "What's wrong with Black People". Ask no more for the answer has been revealed in Baba Jerry Smith's book "Christianity: The Real Deal! Read it and free your mind, soul, and spirit. -Afia Nlongo Brother Jerry Smith has done a masterful job presenting the real deal of christianity. After reading this enlightening and entertaining account of the truth discovered when one looks at christianity without the shackled blindness of an enslaved mind; the following words of the honorable Afrikan Ancestor, educator, historian and author Nana John Henrik Clarke could easily be applied to the powerfully valid words and concepts of this book. "Nearly all religion was brought to people and imposed on people by conquerors and used as the framework to control their minds." "I think the world would be better off if it had been given common sense instead of religion" -Kwaku Ndombe Nlongo Moderator of the "John Henrik Clarke Historical Society" (Afrikan history and culture study group) "The 'real deal' about Christianity is that it has been one of the main tools of oppression, especially for the Black people. In order for us to move forward, it is important to have a better understanding of the history, as well as the psychological effect on our communities in the present, and how our futures can be impacted. If you are looking for a critical analysis of this institution as well as looking to confirm any doubts about the Christian faith, then Jerry Smith's book is a good place to start." -Mandisa L. Thomas Founder/President of Black Nonbelievers, Inc. www.blacknonbelievers.org This book gives a different perspective of Christianity, while providing the readers with several cites to justify the writer's premise. Also, allowing the readers to come to their own conclusion on what they believe to be the "Real Deal"! -Felton Hodges

CONTINUING TO READ THIS BOOK WILL BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR CHRISTIAN BELIEFS! “One must never stop reading. Read everything that you can read, that is of standard knowledge. Don’t waste time reading trashy literature. _e idea is that personal experience is not enough for a human to get all the useful knowledge of life, because the individual life is too short, so we must feed on the experience of others.” Baba Marcus M. "This book is a compelling read...It details the ever greater power of Jesus, who saves lives and brings about a complete transformation to those lives which are on the path to utter destruction, in a way that nothing and no one else can. The book reveals how God's love, grace and true forgiveness turn not only Rod's life around, but also the lives of his long-time accomplices and shows how that has impacted hundreds of others' lives for the better. “Through the pages of this book, I invite you into various spaces of sanctuary—not as places of retreat, but for the deepened resistance, vision, and transformation that these days, and the gospel, require.” Throughout her nearly forty years in ministry, Heidi Neumark has strived to make communities of faith into sanctuaries amid the turmoils of life. Now, with the social and political upheaval of the years since Donald Trump was elected president, Neumark believes the true Christian calling is to live out a counterpoint to today’s prevailing spirits of exclusion and hatred. Using her own bilingual, multicultural congregation as a model, she moves through the seasons of the church calendar to reflect on what it looks like to live out essential Christian convictions in community with others. Sanctuary is an amplifier for the many voices crying out against policies and rhetoric that are cruel, dehumanizing, and dangerous. Neumark begins each chapter with a quote from Donald Trump that she defies and dismantles with the power of her own stories—anecdotes about offering shelter for queer youth in her city, supporting immigrants and asylum-seekers being harassed by ICE, and embracing her church’s diversity with a Guadalupe celebration, to name a few. Timely, but also timeless, this book speaks to the deep wounds of this era, inflicted before and during the Trump presidency, which will remain long past its end.
