Family of Samuel DeVaughan, who came to Nash Co., N.C. from Granville, N.C. sometime between 1774 and 1779. All his eleven children were born in Nash Co., N.C. from 1778 to ca. 1797. By 1820 all of Samuel's children and their families had left North Carolina. Samuel was then in Dallas Co., Alabama. Descendants live in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina and elsewhere.
