“Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Science without humanity Knowledge without character Politics without principle Commerce without morality Worship without sacrifice. https://vidjambov.blogspot.com/2023/01/book-inventory-vladimir-djambov-talmach.html In recent years, when it became possible to send books to Russia, some publishing houses, between their other publications, sent there many works of a religious and philosophical direction. Between them were the works of Archpriest Sergiy Bulgakov, which contained his special heretical teaching on Sofia and on “sophistry”. Since the Russian reader is not sophisticated in these matters, and many are embarrassed by this doctrine, which is clearly not in accordance with the church doctrine, in this regard requests come from there to give a correct explanation of this direction. Therefore, our publishing house has taken steps to reprint a thorough work on this issue of Archbishop Seraphim (Sobolev) - "The New Doctrine of Sophia the Wisdom of God." In this work, His Grace Archbishop Seraphim skillfully and convincingly exposes the teachings of Archpriest S. Bulgakov about Sophia, the Wisdom of God. The author shows in an exhaustive manner that the sophiology of Archpriest Sergius Bulgakov is not consistent with the Orthodox tradition. This is his teaching, of course, in a rougher, currently unacceptable form, characteristic of almost all Gnostic sects, starting from the first centuries of Christianity. Through the Kabbalistic-occult tradition and further through the Rosicrucians in the genus Jacob Boehme, and through the Freemasons, whose writings became widespread in Russia at the end of the 18th century, these Gnostic tendencies also spread to Russia. In the future, this direction was resumed in the writings of V.S. Solovyov and prot. Pavel Florensky. Therefore now, when they try to spread this false doctrine of neo-Gnosticism among the inexperienced Russian reader, by sending books Archpriest S. Bulgakov or by printing the works of prot. Pavel Florensky, we believe that the work of Archbishop Seraphim is very necessary, and will help many understand this anti-church direction, to which the writings of the mentioned philosopher writers lead.

In one of his writings prot. Sergiy Bulgakov, referring to his essay on Sophia of the Wisdom of God: "Hypostasis and hypostasis" says: "It does not give a new teaching, but only an attempt is made to comprehend the fact of veneration of Divine Sophia already existing in church tradition." We can only partly agree with this view of this doctrine, as it existed before, and only if we keep in mind the original thought from which it develops. But this doctrine develops from the idea of a mediator, as a special being between God and the world, without which, as if, the very fact of creating a temporary and created world and further Divine economy of the human race were impossible. 2Even Aria was inherent in this Gnostic thought, as one of the main in his heretical theological system. Arians did not allow the direct relationship of God to the world. Therefore, considering Jesus Christ, although the highest, but still a creature, they allotted to him the fate of the Gnostic demiurge in the creation of the world. "God," said the Arians, "created the world through His (Son), because the Divine itself could not come into contact with the finite world. "According to their teachings, He was used in creation as a tool, while, in Orthodox terms, the Father created Him as with his hand."In his essay "Hypostasis and hypostasis" prot. Bulgakov says that "the Wisdom of God - must be strictly distinguished from the essence of God or nature ( οὑσία or φύσις )." And in his book "The Lamb of God" Sophia and Hosea - (the essence of God or the divine nature) are identified by him.Prot. Bulgakov testifies that Sophia is not a creature: and then he says that Sophia is "the creation and daughter of God". In the same book, "Non-Evening Light," about. Bulgakov teaches that "Sophia does not have her own power, but receives it from God." And in his essay "The Burning Bush", as well as in his other writings, he defines Sophia as the "creative" or peacemaking principle of.Prot. Bulgakov claims that Sophia is not God and this statement does not prevent him from defining Sophia by names that apply to God alone and even directly calling her the goddess.

Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator. Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

"This personification of wisdom with golden hair and a radiant aura echoes both the eternal feminine and the world soul. Rooted in Christian and Jewish mysticism, Eastern Orthodox iconography, Greek philosophy, and European romanticism, the Sophiology that suffuses Solovyov's philosophical and artistic works is both intellectually sophisticated and profoundly inspiring. Judith Deutsch Kornblatt brings together key texts from Solovyov's writings about Sophia: poetry, fiction, drama, and philosophy, all extensively annotated and some available in English for the first time (with assistance from the translators Boris Jakim and Laury Magnus)."--Amazon website.
