The Nashville Number System was originally written and published in 1988 by Chas. He has rigorously updated and edited the book for each of 7 subsequent editions. My method for teaching music theory fundamentals is geared towards popular music and based on my class at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, 'The Nashville number system for songwriters and performers.'
