Excerpt from The Wisconsin Archeologist, 1912-13, Vol. 11 Across the road from this mound, in a strip of wooded pasture, are two tapering mounds both unlike any 'which have been en countered elsewhere about Lake Mendota. The smaller of the two is 52 feet in length. It has a projection on one side of its widest extremity. The other mound has a projection at one end and another about half way down its Opposite side. This mound is 133 feet in length. A year ago the sod was removed from a considerable portion of the narrower extremity of this mound thus mutilating this interesting monument.
