What does the Bible actually say about women? This scripturally accurate book rejects harmful misinterpretations and reminds us of the dignity God places on His daughters, with a helpful guide for reflection and group discussion included. In the wake of the Me Too and Church Too movements, many of our loved ones are leaving the church or questioning Christianity because the Bible has at times been misused against them. How do we help our loved ones understand Scripture accurately? Apologetics for Women In this helpful look at God’s work of redemption from Creation to today, Wendy Alsup explores questions such as: • How does God view justice and equal rights for women? • What does it mean to be made in the image of God? • How have the centuries distorted our interpretation of how God views women? • How did Jesus approach the Old Testament and how does that help us read difficult passages today? • What is the difference between a modern view of feminism and the feminism that Scripture models? • How does the Bible explain the Bible to us? Using a Jesus-centered understanding to look at both God’s grand storyline and specific biblical passages, Alsup shows the noble ways God speaks to and about women in its pages. Most of all, she gives concrete tools for understanding Scripture to women who are questioning if the Bible is truly good for them.

A Walk Through David’s Garden is a daily devotional that takes you through the book of Psalms with the clear and compelling goal of magnifying the great God of the Bible. Written in an easy-to-read yet theologically sublime style, the devotional will give you a newfound love for God. At the conclusion of each day’s devotion, there is a “word of the day,” which explains a theological concept in your daily reading. For instance, the first word of the day is “righteous,” which the author explains means to conform to a correct standard. He writes, “Men can only be righteous if God makes them so. When anyone believes Jesus Christ the Righteous One, God declares that sinner to be righteous; that is, God declares him to be without guilt. All other paths to righteousness include man’s self-effort and lead to a very dark place.” Gaining a love for the psalms by reading this work will not only feed your soul—it will also cause you to sing a new song to God for all His mighty acts.

In John 15:9, 10, Jesus is laying the foundation for His followers to bring into their experience. Jesus is making it easy for us to know how this relationship is to be maintained. These verses read, “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.” His commandments to us is the law or character that makes up His kingdom that Jesus was making available to us, as He paid the ultimate price for our redemption. Jesus is making the statement, “Continue in my love,” and He is showing us how this will be accomplished. “If ye keep my commandment, ye shall abide in my love.” These verses are telling us that Jesus did not have any intentions of setting aside the Ten Commandments that’s been so readily done away with in the churches of our upbringing. Because we have experienced so many years in this nation separated from His law of love, we are living in a nation having the government promoting moral law. This all seems harmless until government law goes contrary to God’s law, as this nation becomes more spiritual but not religious. For a better understanding in all this, continue reading Spiritualism . . . God’s Great Controversy.
