Anton, called Ant, is an English teacher turned industrial technical writer. After a long, difficult corporate career, Ant is given an ant farm for his 50th birthday by his colleagues in the publication department of the Corporation. Soon everyone but Ant and his manager are laid off in preparation for the corporations relocation overseas. Watching the ants in the ant farm, Ant determines that the only way he can do the work of 15, as now required, is to model himself on the ants and work like a human ant. The Last Ant focuses on the plight of the highly skilled American corporate employee in the early years of the twent-first century. Ants experience is a result of corporate downsizing, overseas outsourcing, investor fraud, and lower standards in education. The Last Ant is an elegy for a technical writer whose striving for excellence is undermined by corporate and academic incompetence, ignorance, and stupidity.

With a few simple words in Secrets of the Last Ant Man, our beloved Shaikh Muhammad Raheem Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) discloses the secret of reaching the feet of God, and how that can only be done through a human being who has fully corrected himself: "In the world, there is an Ant Man. He is the last one. For thirteen hundred years he has been the last Ant Man in the world. You will not be able to find another. That is the truth. Thus, if you have the determination, hold on to him. His agreement is that he will be here for a little while longer, and then he will have to disappear. After that, the destruction of the world will come-the wars and the destruction will come. "He is the last man, the last Ant Man for his time, a very subtle man...."To learn, you have to follow the path traveled by the ants and pass through a small hole in the ground. If you come like that and keep going, you can study ant language and learn about our lineage, and the events in the ant colony. For that, you have to go through the small hole. If you come inside to learn ant language, you will understand....

Bed bugs are thriving across the globe--from North and South America, to Africa, Asia and Europe. For some time, bed bugs were naively seen as a problem unique to developing countries, but their love of high thread content sheets has set them up in five-star residences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other parts of Europe as well. Bed Bugs were first noticed in society by Americans in the early 1700 s. Many believe sailboats returning from Europe unknowingly carried the bugs as cargo, as sailors complained of being attacked as they slept in their cabins. With the introduction of DDT in the 1950s, bed bugs nearly disappeared. But when DDT was banned in the 1970 s, a wave of super bed bugs rejoiced. Now, up to 25% of residents in some cities have reported problems with the pests, bordering on epidemic levels. In fact, history has never seen such widespread and intense bed bug infestations. Our propensity for travel has left bed bugs with enviable frequent flyer status too. Following the Sydney Olympics, for example, and the thousands of visitors to Australia, it was estimated that the bed bug occupancy rate in Sydney hotels was 95%. In "Sleep Tight, "Brooke Borel introduces readers to the biology of these amazingly adaptive insects which can travel over 100 foot distances at night--and the myriad ways in which humans respond to them. She travels to meet with scientists who are rearing bed bug colonies on their own blood-- to the BedBug University, to swank apartments on the upper East Side of Manhattan. She explores the history of bed bugs, and their near extinction, charting how current infestations are in direct response to human chemical use. She also introduces us to the economics of bed bug infestations, and the industry that has arisen to combat that. This is the first history and natural history of bed bugs, and it leaves few exoskeletons unturned."

From the Arctic to South Africa - one finds them everywhere: Ants. Making up nearly 15% of the entire terrestrial animal biomass, ants are impressive not only in quantitative terms, they also fascinate by their highly organized and complex social system. Their caste system, the division of labor, the origin of altruistic behavior and the complex forms of chemical communication makes them the most interesting group of social organisms and the main subject for sociobiologists. Not least is their ecological importance: Ants are the premier soil turners, channelers of energy and dominatrices of the insect fauna.
