Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Not the least interesting remark which it suggests is, that the mutilations, to which our churches have visibly been subjected, were not the work of the Reformation, which would give them a certain authority in the eyes of Protestants, but are to be referred to the Rebellion in the next century, a political and ecclesiastical catastrophe which went far indeed beyond the wishes and intentions of the Reformers.
