Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Ephraim Jackson (ca. 1658-1733), a Quaker, was born at Eccleston, Lancashire, England. He immigrated to America in 1684 as a servant to Jacob Hall, a settler in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He married Rachel Newlin (ca. 1674-1742), daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Newlin, in 1695. They had ten children, 1697-1710. The family settled in Edgemont Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and were members of the Chester Monthly Meeting in Pennsylvania. Descendants listed, chiefly some descendants of their grandson, Josiah Jackson (b. 1732) of Christiana, Pennsylvania, and Frederick County, Virginia; and especially of Josiah's son, Issac Jackson (1777-1867) of Frederick County, Virginia, and Hanover, Columbiana County, Ohio. Isaac's descendants listed lived in Ohio, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri, Washington, Texas, California, and elsewhere.
