Excerpt from The International Journal of Orthodontia and Oral Surgery, Vol. 5: January-December, 1919 I Missing teeth are another problem that is of extreme interest to our friends. I need not tell this assembly the problems and tribulations that they bring to us. Fig. 16 represents an extreme case of this type of missing upper lateral, premolars and all molars with the exception of the first permanent ones. In the lower, centrals, premolars and second and third molars are missing. The radiograms fail to locate germs or teeth. The dental arches are shortened, with the lack of alveolar process due to noneruption of teeth. No negative ancestral history in the family has been found so far as can be determined. Fig. 17 Shows the teeth in articulation. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The International Journal of Orthodontia and Oral Surgery, Vol. 7: January-December, 1921 Ince the publication of the August issue of this journal in which an article under the above heading was published, I have had so many inquiries by letter in regard to the making of this lock, that it has seemed advisable to give a little further description of the device together with illustrations. This lock is made of two parts 1. Lug soldered to a backing. 2. Rectangular tube to fit lug. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The International Journal of Orthodontia and Oral Surgery, Vol. 6: January-December, 1920 Regulating appliances are mechanical devices for exerting force upon malposed teeth for the purpose of creating cell activity, and thereby caus ing the teeth to assume a proper position in the line of occlusion. Appliances are divided into two classes, fixed and removable. It is through the work of V. H. Jackson that removable appliances have been developed to their present use fulness. It may be said that it is possible to treat any type of malocclusion with removable appliances, although a number of varieties of malocclusions can be more successfully and more easily treated with this form.
