Māmallapuram, also called Mahabalipuram, a historic town in Tamil Nadu, India.

MAHABALIPURAM became a world heritage site in 1984. This group of monuments (mostly sanctuaries), founded by the Pallava kings, is carved out of rock along the Coromandel coast in the 7th and 8th centuries.
