As members of the Baby Boom generation reach retirement and seasoned librarians, paraprofessionals and managers move on, the members of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL)1 must have in place strong staff and leadership development plans to ensure that staff and administrators are ready and able to take on new and complex roles.
