Dynamic Cartography analyses the works of Rudolf Laban, Lawrence Halprin, Anne Bogart, Adolphe Appia, Cedric Price, Joan Littlewood, and Hélio Oiticica. They are practitioners who have worked on different areas of enquiry from the existing relations between body and space through movement, events, or actions but whose work has never been presented from this perspective or in this context. The work and methodologies set up by these practitioners enable us to develop a practice-based exploration. Some of the experiments in the book – Micro-actions I and II – explore the presence of the body in the space. In Kinetography I and II, Laban’s dance notation system – kinetography – is used to create these dynamic cartographies. Kinetography III proposes the analysis of an urban public space through the transcription of the body movement contained on it. The series Dynamic Cartographies I, II, and III analyses movement in geometrically controlled spaces through the Viewpoints techniques by Anne Bogart. Finally, Wooosh! and Trellick Tales present two projects in which performance is applied in order to analyse and understand urban and architectural space.

The Cosmic Ether Changes Everything! The historical ether-drift experiments obtained positive results for an ether wind and light-speed variation of 5 to 18 kilometers per second. This negates most of modern astrophysical theory, including Einstein's relativity, the big-bang, black holes, and more. An historical survey of original publications.

The book presents and analyzes some of the most important issues related to the body seen as a rich and complex anthropological and semiotic object, capable of playing a decisive role in the meaning making processes of cultural and social life. The analysis presented in this book opens a whole set of new venues for the study of body performances and representations, and shows how the embodiment of social and cultural life shape our world. In all of its relationships and in itself, our body works in a sort of corposphere, which is, in turn, part of the semiosphere, defined by Lotman as a continuum occupied by different types of semiotic formations. It is from/in/by the body that all semiosis begins and ends; it is in its presence and absence, in its being and in its presentation amidst the lived situational life where we might discover and shape the senses of the world. Many different academic fields will find in this book deep insights about how the body is at the center of cultural and social processes.

The theory of Matrix series of books offers the exiting developments in cosmological theory. ‘Matrix of the Universe’ is the 6th book of the series. In this book, we discuss the structure of the Universe, certain aspects of its evolution, energy, matter, space, and time. We combine elements of psychology, cosmology, and astrophysics to discover secrets hidden deep in the Universe. ‘Can we picture to ourselves a three-dimensional universe which is finite, yet unbounded? The usual answer to this question is “No,” but that is not the right answer.’ Albert Einstein ‘Geometry and Experience’ (1922) Stay well, and enjoy your reading. The clearest, most visual e-guide to space and the Universe for complete beginners to astronomy. Have you ever asked yourself how big the Universe is, how far it is to the nearest star, or what came before the Big Bang? Then this is the ebook for you. How Space Works shows you the different types of object in the Universe (so you'll know your pulsars from your quasars) and introduces you to some of the strangest and most wonderful things known to science, including dark matter particles and ancient white dwarf stars that are almost as old as the Universe itself. The ebook starts with an explanation of our view of the Universe from Earth, then takes a tour of the Solar System, the stars and galaxies, and the furthest reaches of space. The last chapter looks at the technology we use to explore the Universe, from the International Space Station to Mars rovers and the new and revolutionary reusable rockets. Illustrated with bold graphics and step-by-step artworks - and peppered with bite-sized factoids and question-and- answer features - this is the perfect introduction to astronomy and space exploration.

This book considers global solutions to the restricted three-body problem from a geometric point of view. The authors seek dynamical channels in the phase space which wind around the planets and moons and naturally connect them. These low energy passageways could slash the amount of fuel spacecraft need to explore and develop our solar system. In order to effectively exploit these passageways, the book addresses the global transport. It goes beyond the traditional scope of libration point mission design, developing tools for the design of trajectories which take full advantage of natural three or more body dynamics, thereby saving precious fuel and gaining flexibility in mission planning. This is the key for the development of some NASA mission trajectories, such as low energy libration point orbit missions (e.g., the sample return Genesis Discovery Mission), low energy lunar missions and low energy tours of outer planet moon systems, such as a mission to tour and explore in detail the icy moons of Jupiter. This book can serve as a valuable resource for graduate students and advanced undergraduates in applied mathematics and aerospace engineering, as well as a manual for practitioners who work on libration point and deep space missions in industry and at government laboratories. the authors include a wealth of background material, but also bring the reader up to a portion of the research frontier.

C.Y. Lee & Partners is an architectural firm led by renowned architects, C.Y. Lee and C.P. Wang, with four partners – V.T. Wu, James Wang, Chuck Chen and Victor Huang. In the three decades since its founding in 1978, C.Y. Lee & Partners has adhered to the architectural design principles based on oriental philosophy in all of its designs. They have been repeatedly recognised, locally and internationally, for their creative contributions to high-rise, commercial and residential architecture, outstanding cultural approach in urban planning and continuous focus on oriental philosophies. This monograph is one that truly stands apart. This is a big statement about big buildings that have big impact. The scale of architecture produced by C.Y. Lee & Partners has a strong visual impact. This book is a complete joy to read and you cannot help but feel you are witnessing a type of poetry or artwork as you are mesmerised within its pages. C.Y. Lee has not only made use of the term ‘room for expression’ in his designs, but also successfully plays it to the fullest extent to test the waters of ‘different expression’ like no other architect has ever dared to do. This reflects the courage and painstaking effort he has exhibited in his endeavours to elevate architectural creation into the realm of the arts. The architecture featured in this ground-breaking monograph will leave you inspired!
