These will be more massive than those at the sides, and will reach from the bottom of the present cut up to the level of the street. They will be the main support of the structure when it is completed. Before this the trestle will have to be stiffened and braced by temporary trusses, the erection of which Will involve a large amount of additional work. Eventually, however, the latter will be taken down, the central pillars erected and the cut filled up, making the street under the structure level all the way h'om One Hundred and Fifteenth Street up to the Harlem River.
