I guess I always felt even if the world came to an end, McDonald's still would be open. High school sophomore Miranda's disbelief turns to fear in a split second when an asteroid knocks the moon closer to Earth, like "one marble hits another." The result is catastrophic. How can her family prepare for the future when worldwide tsunamis are wiping out the coasts, earthquakes are rocking the continents, and volcanic ash is blocking out the sun? As August turns dark and wintery in northeastern Pennsylvania, Miranda, her two brothers, and their mother retreat to the unexpected safe haven of their sunroom, where they subsist on stockpiled food and limited water in the warmth of a wood-burning stove. Told in a year's worth of journal entries, this heart-pounding story chronicles Miranda's struggle to hold on to the most important resource of all--hope--in an increasingly desperate and unfamiliar world. An extraordinary series debut Susan Beth Pfeffer has written several companion novels to Life As We Knew It, including The Dead and the Gone, This World We Live In, and The Shade of the Moon.

From actress, comedian, musician, and writer Charlyne Yi comes this collection of illustrated, interconnected short stories and anecdotes that blends comedy, fantastic adventures, and a storm of feelings that will make you want to laugh and cry at the same time—reminiscent of the works of Demetri Martin, Shel Silverstein and John Cassavetes. Charlyne Yi takes readers from a sky filled with vengeful clouds to the depths of a frog’s stomach, and to Hell and back—literally—in this collection of short stories that showcases her unique style. Equal parts whimsical, hilarious, heartbreaking, and terrifying, these short stories—both written and illustrated by Charlyne—can be read separately, but are connected thematically following the difficulties of love at every age: • Forgive Me: What happens when the tiniest boy of all time is the only thing standing between the world’s largest baby and an angry mob? Who could ever love something so small? Or so big? • She’s All Legs: In this spicy, action-packed romance, Agatha, a woman who is literally just legs and a head, decides to hunt down and kill the Devil himself. Along the way she meets Cassady, an Elvis impersonator with his own, mysterious gripe with the Dark Lord. Short, one-page anecdotes, poems, reflections, and imagery are also included. Strange, heartfelt, and wonderful, Oh the Moon shows you love in the way that only Charlyne Yi’s brilliant, witty mind can.

Luis Burgado is a 13-year-old author who comes from a family of authors. His mother, Dali Burgado, wrote the motivational book Defeat It! in 2017. His cousin, Antonio G. Alicea, wrote and Illustrated the children's book Hectic Hector, in 2018, which was a dedication to his late brother and his childhood adventures. Luis' older sister, Christine M. Burgado, wrote and Illustrated, The Princess and The Dragon at age 6, making her the youngest author in the history of Virginia. Now Luis Alexander Burgado, continues this tradition with his first book, The Disappearing Moon, a charming tale about a child's imaginative and fun relationship with the moon. Luis has always been a creative. As a toddler he would draw logos of cars and movie production companies. He started developing his own characters at age 10, and he taught himself Photoshop and started creating movie posters. Soon after, he would create a series of 10 books, which were lost shortly after creating them, due to a computer crash. Luis has since worked hard to create new books starting with The Disappearing Moon all while keeping an A/B average in school. We are proud to see what other literary creations he has in-store for the world.
