Other books have been written about battles between humans and creatures from outer space. So, what's different about this one? Well, the aliens in this case know a great deal about planet Earth and its human population, but their info is disastrously out of date. It's a war in which tactics make all the difference and the aliens would have found peaceful cooperation a far more useful thing than the battle. As a side issue, these highly intelligent aliens have evolved on a planet where oxygen and water are rare. Impossible? Not at all. The author's thesis on this point is that life can evolve anywhere there is an energy source the life form can use. In each case, the life form evolves so as to use the available energy source and, therefore, is very dependant on it, just as we depend on oxygen and water.

Chu Chi is a handsome, powerful, and brave Siberian Husky. But, he didn’t start out that way. The Chu Chi Chronicles is a collection of stories about Chu Chi and his pals who live in the Canadian village of Reindeer Lake. In the first three stories, we join Chu Chi and his friends as they engage in a series of adventures, as they explore their world. Encounters with polar bears, jewel thieves, and a beautiful show dog who steals Chu Chi’s heart, are a few of the many special moments to be found in these stories. From the beginning of the Great Race, the reader is rooting for Chu Chi’s team to win the prize. It’s a spot on the Royal Mounties, Olympic Sled team. When our hapless group attends their first dog show, chaos erupts when they discover a jewel robbery and eventually solve the crime. And, as the intrepid team of dogs, attempt a dangerous rescue on Christmas Eve, in the midst of a blinding blizzard, “supernatural” events guide the outcome and give us all a gentle reminder of what is truly important. The Chu Chi Chronicles blend tales of adventure with messages of wisdom and hope. They are the kinds of stories many of us read as children, but The Chu Chi Chronicles include a decidedly modern touch. These adventures can be read again and again and then passed on to the next generation. They are ideal for younger readers, but have a message for everyone. W.O. 2001

In ancient times, the dark god Kronos crafted weapons of war in his fiery lair. His worship has long been eradicated, his followers driven into hiding... and yet he remains... Creatures of shadow are crawling through the land of Eloesus... they seek one man above all else: Theron, upstanding citizen, master swordsman, and veteran of many wars. As he flees, doom is falling over the land: clouds of fire hover over the ancient city of Thenai and infernal names not spoken in thousands of years thunder from the mountaintops. A hero is needed. A wind of destiny is blowing, yet Theron is one false step from death.
