The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1971, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from April 13 through June 20, 1971. During this period Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles until the middle of May. He then went to Sacramento, California, for a weekend conference. He returned to Los Angeles and remained there until the end of May, at which time he went to San Francisco for a weekend conference. After returning to Los Angeles, he traveled to Houston, Texas, where he remained for two weeks. He spent the following week in Atlanta, Georgia. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-three messages given in Los Angeles, California, from April 13 through May 27. These messages were previously published in a twenty-one-chapter book entitled Christ as the Reality. 2. A message given in Los Angeles, California, on May 23. It is included in this volume under the title Following the Lord by Discipling the Nations and Feeding His Sheep. 3. Four messages given in Sacramento, California, on May 14 and 15. These messages are published in this volume under the title Enjoying the Humanity of Jesus for the Church. 4. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on May 16. It is included in this volume under the title Keeping the Oneness of the Body of Christ. 5. Six messages given in San Francisco, California, from May 28 through 31. These messages are included in this volume under the title Enjoying Christ as the Reality of the Offerings for the Church Life. 6. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, in June. The first two messages were given on June 1 and 2, and the exact date of the third message is unknown. The three messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages Given to the Church in Los Angeles. 7. Seventeen messages given in Houston, Texas, from June 4 through 13. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Great Mystery--Christ and the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 8. Eight messages given in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 14 through 20. These messages are included in this volume under the title Enjoying Christ as the Spirit and Caring for the Oneness and Increase of the Body of Christ.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1932-1949, volume 2, contains personal notes and messages given by Brother Witness Lee in 1936 through 1949. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry during this period can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1932-1949, volume 1. The contents of this volume are divided into five sections, as follows: 1. A collection of message outlines, personal notes, and diaries written in 1936 through 1949. They are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Personal Notes and Diaries. 2. Five articles written in 1947. These articles were published in the periodical Words of Grace and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Sixty-two messages given in 1947 and 1948 during the resumption of Watchmen Nee's ministry. These messages were previously published together with messages given by Watchman Nee in a book entitled Messages Given during the Resumption of Watchman Nee's Ministry. The messages given by Witness Lee are included in this volume under the title Speakings Given during the Resumption of Watchman Nee's Ministry. 4. Seven articles that were published in the periodical entitled The Way from August 1 through October 1, 1948. These articles are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Five articles published in the periodical The Ministers in July through November 1948. These articles were previously published in The Collected Works of Watchman Nee, volume 55, and are included in this volume under the same title.

Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry during the period of 1950-1951 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 of this set. The contents of this volume are divided into six sections, as follows: 1. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1950. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Pure in Heart and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Fifteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1950. These messages were previously published as chapters 14 through 28 in a book entitled Christ Being the Burden of the Gospel. They are included in this volume under the title Messages for the Gospel and for the Perfecting of New Believers. 3. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 2, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from April 6 through July 7, 1963, with the exception of messages he gave in a series on the Gospel of John, which are published in Life-study of John (not included in The Collected Works). In the first part of April, Brother Lee was in Los Angeles. At the end of that month he visited San Diego, California, and then returned to Los Angeles for most of May. At the end of May and the first part of June he visited Christian groups in Sacramento, California, and in Eugene, Salem, and Portland, Oregon, before giving a conference in San Francisco. For the remainder of the period he was in Los Angeles. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given at a conference in Los Angeles on April 12 through 14. These messages have been published under the title The Four Major Steps of Christ. The published book consists of four chapters. 2. Ten messages given at a conference in San Diego on April 23 through 27. These messages have been published under the title God's Intention concerning Christ and the Church. 3. Four messages given in Los Angeles in Lord's Day morning meetings in May and June. These messages are included in this volume under the title Lord's Day Morning Messages. 4. A series of messages composed from personal notes taken by several individuals in various meetings held throughout the period. These include nine messages given in Los Angeles on Saturday mornings from April 6 through May 25; two messages given in Sacramento on May 30; and a report given in Los Angeles on June 14 concerning Brother Lee's visit to the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Speakings. Brother Lee gave two additional messages in Sacramento on Lord's Day, June 2, of which there is no record. 5. Seven fellowship meetings held with the leading ones in Los Angeles and Chula Vista, California, from April 21 through June 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Leading Ones. The contents were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. 6. Eight messages given in Eugene, Salem, and Portland on June 4 through 9. These messages have been published under the title The Living That Fulfills God's Eternal Purpose. One message was given in Eugene, one in Salem, and six in Portland. According to the record of these meetings, Brother Lee gave a second message in Salem on the subject of "Following the Lord in the Spirit," but the record of this message is not available. 7. Three messages given at a conference in San Francisco on June 11 through 13. These messages are included in this volume under the title Transformation for God's Building. 8. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles on June 29 through July 7. These messages have been published under the title The Central Thought of God.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1971, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from June 15 through August 19, 1971. During this period Brother Lee remained in Atlanta, Georgia, until June 20, after which he visited Toronto, Canada; and Detroit, Michigan. There is no record of his speaking in the latter two cities. He then traveled to Akron, Ohio, at the beginning of July, and he remained there for a little more than a week before going on to Seattle, Washington. After spending a week in Seattle, he visited San Francisco for a week and returned to Los Angeles at the end of July, where he remained until the end of the third week in August. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Four messages given in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 15 through 19. These messages are included in this volume under the title Being Saved in Christ's Life and Walking according to the Spirit for the Building Up of the Body of Christ. 2. Seven messages given in Akron, Ohio, from July 2 through 5. There is no record of the speaking of messages 2, 3, and 6 of this series. The remaining four messages are included in this volume under the title Enjoying Christ as the Tree of Life for the Accomplishment of God's Purpose. 3. Twelve messages given in Akron, Ohio, from July 5 through 11. There is no record of the speaking of messages 4, 5, 8, 9, and 12 of this series. The remaining seven messages are published in this volume under the title Gaining People and Building Them Up for the Body of Christ. 4. Thirteen messages given in Seattle, Washington, from July 12 through 18. These messages are included in this volume under the title Enjoying the All-inclusive Christ as the Life-giving Spirit for the Fulfillment of God's Eternal Purpose. 5. Thirteen messages given in San Francisco, California, from July 19 through 25. They are included in this volume under the title Experiencing Christ as the Spirit for the Recovery of the Church as the Body of Christ and the House of God. 6. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 30 through August 8. These messages are published in this volume under the title Overcoming the Church's Degradation to Produce the Man-child and the Bride for the Fulfillment of God's Purpose. 7. Twenty-four messages given in Los Angeles, California, in the summer of 1971. These messages were previously published only in English in a book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel. Later, these messages were combined with another set of twenty-four messages on Ezekiel given in Taipei, Taiwan, in the autumn of 1961. The combined set of messages was published as the Life-study of Ezekiel. Neither the Life-study of Ezekiel nor the messages that were previously published in English in the book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. 8. Seven messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 10 through 19. These messages were previously published as a book under the title The Speciality, Generality, and Practicality of the Church Life.
