The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1966, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee primarily in Los Angeles, California, in August 1966. The final section of this volume consists of messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in October and November 1966. From the middle of July to the end of September, Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles. At the beginning of October he began a six-month visit to the Far East, including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 3 through 6. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Exercise of Our Spirit. 2. Five messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 9 through 26. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Way to Enjoy Christ as the Word and the Spirit. 3. Nine messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 13 through 18. These messages are included in this volume under the title Practicing the Oneness according to the Heavenly Vision of the Body of Christ. 4. Seven messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 23 through 26 and September 6. They are included in this section under the title The Way to Bear Fruit. The first six messages were previously published in The Ministry magazine in volume 3, number 9 through volume 4, number 5. 5. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 9 through 20. These messages are included in this volume under the title Additional Words in Response to the Testing and Testimonies of the Saints during the 1966 Summer Training in Los Angeles. 6. Fifteen messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 4 through 25. These messages were edited and previously published in a thirteen-chapter book entitled The Divine Spirit with the Human Spirit in the Epistles. 7. One message spoken at the conclusion of the summer conference and training in Los Angeles, California, on August 26. This message is included in this section under the title Enjoying the Riches of Christ to Bear Much Fruit as the Body of Christ, Standing on the Unique Ground of Oneness. 8. Seventeen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 6 through 12 and November 1 and 11. These messages were translated from Chinese and are included in this volume under the title Being Delivered from Religious Practices by the Exercise of the Spirit.

At the time of regeneration, all believers receive the divine life and are begotten as children of God. Yet, this life most grow and it does so by regulation unto maturity and function. This regulation comes from revelation and issues in obedience. This word is crucial for our progress and training in the divine life for our maturity and function in our living and service to God.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, Letters and Gleanings, volume 2, contains miscellaneous messages given by Brother Witness Lee in 1965 through 1971. The contents of this volume are divided into thirteen sections, as follows: 1. Eight messages given in Taiwan in 1965. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Gleanings, 1966. 5. Four messages given in Taiwan on October 5 through 15, 1966. These messages are included in this volume under the title Taking the Way of the Lord's Recovery. 6. Fifteen messages given in Taiwan in 1967. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Gleanings, 1967. 7. Eight messages given in 1968. Message 1 was given in Taichung, Taiwan. "In God's dispensation and economy, the leading ministry is the priesthood. In this universe God has an administration, a divine economy. His economy is the way He arranges or dispenses. Therefore, it is a kind of dispensation. According to the Bible there are three main ministries in God's divine dispensation: the priesthood, the kingship, and the prophethood. The priesthood is the leading ministry of the three and brings the kingship and prophethood into function. In other words, both the kingship and the prophethood depend upon the leading ministry of the priesthood."

This book presents a vision of Christ and the church. It then goes on the emphasize the need to experience this Christ as the Spirit in our spirit and to practice the church life on the ground of oneness.

In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.
