A series based on the what if notion that your emotions have the power to physically manifest themselves. What would happen if your anger got the better of you? Would you blow up a building? What if your sadness became tangible? Would the masses around you cease to want to exist, or would the sky darken and rain down your tears? Our emotions are often considered the fuel for our passions, but what if our empathy was the conduit that made such extraordinary feats possible? Imagine a world that entertained such a notion. Lince Breeze, a young man born in our world with an unusual birthright, gets pulled into the aged, scarred world of Aveana. A place wrought by heartache, war, and mystery. Lince searches for the kidnapped love of his life, only to find out what it means to truly be his fathers son.

Throughout the history of Ojibwe-United States political relationship clan identity has played an important underlying principle guiding the decision-making process for the Ojibwe. The assimilationist programs of United States policy demonstrated by the treaty-making process, allotment, boarding schools, and the Indian Reorganization Act 1934 have undermined the political influences of Ojibwe clans. This dissertation examines how Ojibwe authors in their fiction illuminate the importance of clan identity and the Ojibwe people's response to various attacks from the outside world. Two Ojibwe teachings provide the framework for analyzing these works of fiction. The first teaching comes from is called the "seven fires prophecy." This Ojibwe prophecy teaches that in the time of the seventh fire the Ojibwe people will begin to live once again in the manner of their ancestors of the first fire. The second teaching is inaendagwut or "it is permitted." This teaching reflects the core value of respect for personal autonomy among the Ojibwe. The application of these two cultural teachings does several things. First, it opens up a space for an Ojibwe specific analysis of the fiction. Second, it emphasizes the importance of decolonization in the relationship between the Ojibwe and the United States

Erin Hunter’s #1 bestselling Warriors series continues! Discover more epic adventure in this fifth book in the Starless Clan arc. Frostpaw has returned to the lake just in time to reveal all she knows at the Gathering—but the Clans are reluctant to believe an apprentice who’s already admitted to lying about her visions in the past, and she is forced to take refuge in ShadowClan as Splashtail seizes control of her home. While the other Clan leaders debate whether to interfere any further in RiverClan affairs, Nightheart has his paws full teaching Clan ways to the two park cats who followed him home, and Sunbeam’s efforts to fit in as the newest member of ThunderClan are hampered by her concerns for her mother, who is paying for her treachery with exile and illness. As Berryheart’s schemes take an alarming new turn—and Splashtail’s ambitions turn toward violence—a few cats’ efforts may not be enough to preserve the peace.
