From George Foreman, two-time heavy-weight champion of the world and one of the greatest salesmen of all time, his cookbook written specifically for his fabulous, indoor grills. From dorm rooms and first apartments to suburban homes and four-star restaurants, the George Foreman grill is one of America's most popular small kitchen appliances. As a world-class athlete and father of ten, George Foreman is focused on fresh, healthy foods that keep him and his family strong. Between kids, careers, and a heavyweight training schedule, the Foremans are a big, constantly-in-motion family. Getting dinner on the table could be an endurance event, but instead of going ten rounds in the kitchen, George Foreman has perfected fast and easy, and he passes on his strategy in George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy. Here are more than 100 recipes that speak to the reason everyone buys the indoor grill in the first place: easy dishes filled with big, bold flavor for healthy food fast. From breakfast foods to snacks, entrées, side dishes, and even desserts made on the grill, this is food to satisfy the young, the not-so-young, and everyone in between. Most recipes are naturally lower in carbohydrates (after all, George is a carnivore of some note), but some have choice carbs to fuel heavy training days. In addition to the recipes, there are plenty of flavor-enhancing ideas—marinades, spice rubs, and sauces—for simple cuts of fish, beef, pork, and chicken. You'll also find insider info on how to make perfect grilled veggies every time. George Foreman's Indoor Grilling Made Easy even includes finger foods for a party and a Thanksgiving dinner made on the grill. Portions feed a family of four but can easily be downsized for those living on their own (or doubled for Foreman-sized families).

King of the ring and king of the grill, George Foreman joins forces with chef Barbara Witt to provide all-new dishes for grill and rotisserie cooking. The recipes in this book can be prepared indoors, using an electric or stovetop grill; or outdoors, on an electric, charcoal, or gas-powered barbecue. Grilling is healthful and quick. If you do a little work in advance, once you fire up the grill, dinner can be ready in a matter of minutes. So dishes like Rib Roast with Rosemary and Roasted-Garlic Wine Sauce, Chicken Breasts with Peanut Sauce, Ginger Honey Duck, and Curried Salmon Steak become easy weeknight dinners instead of party fare. Foreman and Witt have created delicious recipes for grilled meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, innovative grilled salads and pasta sauces -- even pizza. Complete with full nutritional information, the recipes reflect an international range of flavors -- Caribbean, Pan-Asian, and Latin -- and provide new twists on all-American favorites. In the recipe introductions and in the vegetable chapter, there are suggestions for side dishes, some of which can be prepared on the grill alongside the main course. You'll find everything you need to know about equipment; ways to maximize flavor by using seasoning rubs, pastes, marinades, and brines; and there are sources for the best meats and ingredients. While these dishes are full of big flavors, the ingredients can be found in any well-stocked supermarket. Whether you want a quick-fix family meal, a backyard barbecue feast, or an elegant dinner party, you'll find the perfect recipe in George Foreman's Big Book of Grilling, Barbecue, and Rotisserie.

Employment prospects for many were bleak at the height of the Great Depression. For unmarried recent high school graduates, the prospect of getting a job was mostly non-existent. President Rosevelt’s New Deal plan included the Civilian Conservation Corps, a program specifically targeted to provide employment for those whose job prospects were non-existent. This seventeen to twenty-five-year-old age group would seize upon this opportunity for full-time employment, enroll for a six-month hitch and venture into the unknown. New enrollees processed into the program at regional induction centers after receiving a medical exam, issued clothing and gear, given a general idea of the work projects they would engage. They were then transported to a work camp, their new home for the next six months. The work to be performed was focused on regeneration of America’s severely depleted forests and lands. For many decades harvesting of timber, depletion of natural resources, and taking from the lands had been performed with little or no regard for conservation. The work projects included tree planting, eradication of destructive vegetation, construction of roads and bridges, fire management, soil management, and the development of parks and recreational areas. This book tells the story about CCC Company 1333, Camp S-63, Poe Valley situated in the rugged mountains of central Pennsylvania. From the first day, the camp was activated through the last day of operation, the book is filled with accounts of camp development, work projects, construction of the dam creating Poe Valley lake, and numerous stories told by veterans, camp administrators, and military commanders. Included are hundreds of names of rostered enrollees. Anyone interested in learning what life was like in a CCC camp during and after work hours, this book will provide insight into camp operations and activities. For those researching family history, the roster of names just may include the one you have been looking for. Watch this video from the Poe Valley CCC camp: https://youtu.be/ZOGUrbchYKE

George Foreman knows what it's like to get knocked down -- in the ring and in life -- and he knows how to get back up again. Two-time heavyweight boxing champion of the world, he knows what it takes to succeed. He has a wealth of life experience to share, and in George Foreman's Guide to Life: How to Get Up Off the Canvas When Life Knocks You Down he does just that. Here's what George has to say about: TAKING ADVICE: "The real answers you are looking for are inside of you. The hard part is being able to hear them." BEING AFRAID OF CHANGE: "Be afraid to stay where you are in life. Stepping out...is what makes you good, better, and even the best at what you're doing." GETTING OLDER: "Old age is not something that happens to you; it's a choice you make. You can look in the mirror and cry...or you can look in that mirror...and dream another dream." LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES: "I try to let the past stay where it is and let today speak for itself....Learn from your mistakes but don't be chained to them." DETERMINATION: "There are always others trying to get to the same goal you are, only they decide to stop halfway down the road. And when they walk away, they leave the road paved for you." MARRIAGE: "Let every day be like the first day you fell in love. It's about trying to put your best self forward, not just to others but to the one you've pledged your life to." CHILDREN: "I believe how you teach your kids life's lessons is as important as what you teach them. You've got to love kids into another gear."
