Dr. Klein has recorded tombstone inscriptions from eighty family cemeteries, twenty-five church cemeteries, and several small proprietary cemeteries in King George County, Virginia. The result is this enumeration, giving the dates of birth and death and frequently specifying the family relationships of approximately 1,500 persons. The recorded inscriptions are limited, by and large, to persons who either died before 1900 or were born before 1850.

This is the fifth and final volume of a multi-volume work consisting of Virginia genealogies from the "Virginia Magazine of History and Biography," a notable periodical that contained a large number of genealogies that will be of help to the researcher. John Washington (d.1677/1678) immigrated from England to land in what is now Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1659. Descendants lived in Vir- ginia, Washington, D.C., Missouri, California and elsewhere.

The Rascos from England to Virginia, North Carolina and elsewhere. The first identified ancestor, William Rasco (ca. 1750-1806), married Rachel Harrell, daughter of Phereby (Fereby) and Jesse Harrell of Bertie Co., North Carolina, in 1777 in Bertie County. Their eight children were born in Bertie Co., N.C. and the youngest child in Tennessee or Kentucky ca. 1797. Family members and descendants live in Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and elsewhere.
