The Christian movement, with a quasi-military structure and government - but with no physical weaponry, founded in 1865 has spread from London, England, to many parts of the world and is known for being one of the largest distributors of humanitarian aid. George Scott Railton (1849-1913) was the author of: Heathen England, and What To Do For It (1877), The Truth About the Armstrong Case and the Salvation Army (1885), The History of Our South African War (1902) and The Authoritative Life of General William Booth (1912).
