Are you struggling to find your stride as a trial attorney? Do you fail, even when you know you are doing everything the "right" way? Then there is only one question to answer: Are you ready to live by a code and system that will work in any situation? Using Sun Tzu's revered The Art of War as a point of inspiration and reference, Michael Waddington offers up bite-size pieces of advice, snippets of strategy, and countless nuggets of wisdom he's accumulated over hundreds of trials. Instead of dwelling on the logistics and technicalities of trial practice, The Art of Trial Warfare illustrates the habits of a successful trial attorney. It speaks eloquently to the art of attack, of exploiting weaknesses, and of leveraging each success. After time, the wisdom becomes muscle memory, instilling habits that will improve any trial attorneys game. Trial is war. Trial lawyers would be well-served to dip into this handy resource time and time again. It serves as an excellent overall philosophy, as well as the ultimate pep talk.

In the years since the Japanese war crimes trials concluded, the proceedings have been colored by charges of racism, vengeance, and guilt. In this book, Tim Maga contends that in the trials good law was practiced and evil did not go unpunished. The defendants ranged from lowly Japanese Imperial Army privates to former prime ministers. Since they did not represent a government for which genocide was a policy pursuit, their cases were more difficult to prosecute than those of Nazi war criminals. In contrast to Nuremberg, the efforts in Tokyo, Guam, and other locations throughout the Pacific received little attention by the Western press. Once the Cold War began, America needed Pacific allies and the atrocities committed by Japanese soldiers throughout the 1930s and early 1940s were rarely mentioned. The trials were described as phony justice and "Japan bashing". Keenan and his compatriots adopted criminal court tactics and established precedents in the conduct of war crimes trials that still stand today. Maga reviews the context for the trials, recounts the proceedings, and concludes that they were, in fact, decent examples of American justice and fair play.

"THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS BOOK!" "A timeless piece that would undoubtedly disrupt the plans of any authoritarian regime." "The Art of Guerrilla Warfare is a must read for anyone interested in military strategy." "A book that would make the great Sun Tzu proud." Fighting a superior foe is a momentous task. There are many ways it can be done, there are many ways victories can be achieved. In war, there are no rules, there are no laws, there are only strategies and tactics. Many say what they would do in the face of tyranny, many know what they should do when the powerful become predators. A divided people can be isolated and devoured. Survival depends upon the masses forming one mind. There is no time to weigh the importance of morality as the devil approaches. To even question any tactics that lead to victory is foolish. There is no need to ponder what the enemy deems acceptable, they occupy the opposite end of the spectrum for a reason. At war with a superior force, one has no choice but to assume the role of the guerrilla. Note: 2nd Edition refers to ebook being formatted as print replica. Text is similar to first edition.
