Hugh Harry (d.1708), a Quaker, immigrated in 1684 from Wales to Philadelphia. He married Elizabeth Brinton in 1686, and settled on land in Birmingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and elsewhere. Hugh Harry was born in about 1660 in Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, Wales. His parents were Harry Thomas Owen and Elizabeth. He married Elizabeth Brinton (1665-1715), daughter of William Brinton and Ann Bagley, in about 1686 in Chichester Township, Chester, Pennsylvania. He died in about 1708.
