Harp culture in America began in the early 1900s in New York City. Stephanie Curcio grew up and studied harp during those times. She shares her experiences as well as her contributions to the world of harp. She also provides insights into growing a career, teaching/pedagogy, ensemble/orchestral work, competitions, various styles, composing, notation, copyright and music publishing.

The American Harp Society (AHS), located in Los Angeles, California, is a nonprofit organization with over 300 chapters devoted to promoting interest in the harp. The society sponsors awards and competitions, provides information about its committees and local chapters, and holds an annual conference.

This collection is a snapshot of mid-twentieth century culinary and harp history with recipes from members of The American Harp Society, Inc. The "Favorite Foods" cookbook was first published in 1969 as a fundraiser for commissioning new works for harp, and is republished in 2017 as part of AHS's mission to celebrate our legacy. Proceeds will support AHS core mission-related programs such as the National Conference, Grants Program, Music Education & Evaluation Auditions, National Competition, and more.
