Andrew (Andreas) Kauffman (d.1743) migrated from Switzerland to the Palatinate of Germany, and then immigrated via Rotterdam to Philadelphia in 1717. He married twice and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere. Hans te Neues, lived in Lürrip, Germany in 1654. His grandson, Hans, immigrated to Pennsylvania ca. 1698 where he died in Philadelphia in 1736. One descendant, Henry Clemmer Nice (1822-1892), was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He married Levinah Tyson and later moved to Ohio in 1850. In 1865 they moved to Illinois. Henry died in Morrison, Illinois. Descendants lived in Illinois, California, Nebraska, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Virginia, and elsewhere.

Samuel Gehman Sauder, son of Jacob Sauder (1811-1881) and Hannah Gehman, was born 22 November 1842 in Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth Eaby (1846-1927), daughter of Peter Eaby and Anna Ranck, in 1869. They had six children. He died in 1925. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.
