God desires for this people to prosper. He desires for his people to live in the full blessings of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, because most Christians hove not understood the nature of the covenant, they have pursued those blessings in an entirely un-Biblical fashion. They have resorted to the pop-psychology of positive thinking, or the pop-sociology of positive imaging, or the pop-theology of positive confession. The author demonstrates that only by keeping the terms of the covenant will Christians truly prosper. Utilizing careful and detailed Biblical exposition, and practical and lucid Biblical application, he shows just how God desires for us to obtain our promised victory. But he not only shows us all the hows of the covenant, he shows us all the whats, whens, wheres and whys as well.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 2 (NKJV) It has been a dream of mine to prosper financially using biblical principles. I prayed about it, and then one morning, the Lord told me that it was time and that He would teach me. He instructed me to wait on Him every morning and to write down the things He taught me. I followed His instructions, guidance, and wisdom, writing it all down for a full year. This book is the result of our time together. To my surprise, this became a book of many books! The Lord would guide me to a specific book, teach me from it, and then move on to the next book. It was totally supernatural! As I followed the leading of the Lord, it became clear to me that God was taking me on a year-long journey of prospering my soul, which in turn would influence my financial situation. I learnt that I could not prosper in any given area unless my soul prospered in that area too, hence the book’s title. This book takes many twists and turns, and even has a few surprises. Did I reach my goal of financial prosperity? You have to read it to find out!

Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.

Over the past fifty years, there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of Christian books written about prosperity. Many of those books are based on sound teaching and understanding of God's principles. For example, sowing and reaping is a natural and spiritual truth. God's plan is to bless His people, not to harm them. Jesus did say that whoever follows Him would reap "now in the present age, houses, brothers and sisters..." The aim of this book is not to refute or really even add to the work of many books that have taught the true values of God's design for His people to have and receive financial blessing. This book is broader than finances. Finances are important, to be sure, but life is more than money. Jesus said, "Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing?" He taught us to think about more than material things.Just before that, in Matthew 6:24 (NIV), He said, "No man can serve two masters...You cannot serve God and money."Too often, we fall into the trap of believing that money is the proof of God's favor. Because it's at the center of our interaction with the things we need to live and function in modern society, money becomes the tool and the gauge for determining how blessed we are. But life is more than a "give to get" plan. Life is more than budgets and spreadsheets and 401Ks, though all those things are necessary. Life is not what we possess. Life is what we pass on to others. Life is not just building a financial inheritance for your children; it's modeling an abundant heart of gratitude that infects everyone around you.I chose the title for this book very strategically. You see, a prosperous life is a generous life. A generous life is a blessed life. Regardless of material accumulation, the Bible promises that the "generous person will prosper, and whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." To prosper means to have abundance in many areas. Physical health. Spiritual peace. Marital bliss. Joyful children. A great reputation. The list could go on and on. You get the point. Being blessed is about what you have left over after you've paid your bills. Prospering is not about buying things you can't afford to impress others. In fact, Solomon, who had more material wealth than anyone in history warned, "it's better to have a sleeping dog than a dead lion." He meant that it was better to have something effective and useful but less impressive on the surface than to have a majestic creature that has no power because it's dead. It's no benefit to have a superficially impressive possession if it was paid for by incurring a huge debt you can't afford. It's better to have a less significant house or car that you can afford, than to carry the crushing burden of debt and live under stress and worry. Too often, instead of thanking God we have a roof over our head (which billions of people don't), we only pray for a bigger roof over our head.My true prayer is that you would prosper. But, as John writes, "I pray that you prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." So, that's my prayer as well. I pray that as you read this book, you understand the full meaning of a prosperous life. I pray that you comprehend the breadth and depth of God's desire for your life. A life meant to be lived without needless anxiety and worry about tomorrow. A life that is generous, and therefore blessed. I pray that you prosper.Steve Kelly
