"The focus of the current study was upon the attitudes of professionals in the Los Angeles County Probation Department and the City of Los Angeles Police Department toward a diversion program, namely, the Neighborhood Adult Participation Program (NAPP) Drug Abuse Diversion Program, Los Angeles, California...The purpose of the study was to determine if professionals in the juvenile justice system felt that a diversion drug abuse program would be effective in the rehabilitation of juveniles into society without incarceration...The general research question involved in the current study may be stated thus: What are the attitudes of employees of the criminal justice system toward drug diversion programs?
