In this era of knowledge explosion and advancement in technology, nearly all organizations are beginning to employ and deploy one or more technologically enhanced processes to get things efficiently done. This may be due to the reality that not applying the same in line with the trends and events in terms of innovative capabilities could result in an impeded growth in business, huge business losses, or eventual failure or collapse of the business. This paper tends to ascertain the significance of technology in curbing issues relating to absenteeism and presenteeism in work organizations. A meta-review on the importance, nature, and meaning of technology was done on innovative technology, and relevant theory and studies revisited. Conclusively, the behavioral implications with respect to social and human actions presuppose that a huge chunk of behaviors in an organization will be largely based on social action, which respects the consciousness and expectation of reciprocal action. Awareness of the installation of Closed-Circuit Television will definitely evoke pretense, which becomes a clog to the possibility of the manager understanding the true nature of their subordinates.

Coming to work sick may do more harm than staying home - for the employee, the team, and the firm. Whilst the cost of absenteeism in organizations has been widely acknowledged and extensively examined, the counter-issue of 'presenteeism' has only recently attracted scholarly attention as a phenomenon that harms employee wellbeing, disrupts team dynamism, and damages productivity. This volume brings together leading international scholars from diverse scientific backgrounds, including occupational psychology, health, and medicine, to provide a pioneering review of the subject. International in scope, the collection incorporates both Western and East Asian perspectives, making it an informative resource for multinational companies seeking to formulate human resource strategies and better manage their culturally diverse workforce. It will also appeal to scholars and graduate students researching human resource management, organization studies, organizational health, and organizational psychology.

This book demonstrates how principles of a Humanistic Management paradigm are practiced in a variety of industries and regions by businesses of different ownership structures and sizes. What unites these businesses is their commitment to the three stepped approach of Humanistic Management, which is grounded in unconditional respect for the dignity of life, the integration of ethics in management decisions, and active engagement with stakeholders. These businesses are not labeled social enterprises, but operate within the mainstream of competitive markets. However, they do have a deep sense of responsibility towards the communities in which they operate and act accordingly, knowing that sustaining business success over time depends on a value proposition to society at large. The cases featured in this book serve to clarify that businesses can thrive not despite but because they are upholding principles of Humanistic Management. It will be valuable reading for academics working in the field of business ethics, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Conventional debates about new technology often invoke optimistic visions of enhanced democracy, rising skills and economic abundance; others predict darker scenarios such as the destruction of jobs through labour-eliminating devices. This book proposes an alternative perspective, arguing that technology can be powerful, but in and of itself has no independent causal powers. It considers the impact of new technologies on manufacturing, clerical, administrative and call centre employment, in both managerial and professional arenas, and introduces the growing phenomena of telework. The book also assesses the important political and economic forces that restrict or facilitate the flow of new technologies on national and global levels.
