It's 1806 and the Napoleonic Wars are raging across Europe as engineer Jack Tarver and his new wife Bethany set off for Malta, tasked with building a new road to a harbour of refuge. However, their voyage is anything but plain sailing as they battle the French and help to rescue a British spy, Mr Dover, from captivity. When they finally arrive on the island they find bitter opposition to their plans - before discovering that they are occupying a house with a dangerous secret. When Jack is attacked one day, Dover explains that the Knights of Malta have hidden a treasure from Bonaparte and that the key is to be found in Jack's house. While the British want the treasure to help finance the war against the French, the knights want to protect it for the Maltese people. And so Jack and Bethany find themselves caught up in a web of intrigue as the race to find the treasure begins.

Jackson and his mates are drawn back into the paranormal world to investigate the mysterious disappearance of their friend and mentor, Mike Weinstein, in the Voodoo Capital of America: New Orleans. Along the way, T.J., Bortnicker and LouAnne — with an assist from their Bermudian friend Ronnie Goodwin — must explore the strange world of New Orleans Voodoo, as well as the crazy gumbo of cultures that make Southern Louisiana a place like no other. Their quest will take them from the bright lights of Bourbon Street to the steamy backwaters of the bayou, and test their courage at every turn. These two volumes, published early in 1987 will now be made available for purchase, at a special price, as a Set. They list the contents of two hundred private libraries, as recorded in inventories presented for probate in the Vice-Chancellor's Court at the University of Cambridge between 1535 and 1760. Most of the books listed (as well as the maps and instruments, scientific and musical) reflect the flowering of the late English Renaissance as it affected all levels of the University community from academic potentates to the humblest student. The first volume presents the lists themselves, with brief biographical details of the books' owners, and appendices which include extracts from early wills; the second volume catalogues by author and title the books listed in Volume I, and is further supplied with an index, under broad subject-headings, of the authors represented. Dr. Leedham-Green has assembled one of the largest collections of private book-holdings ever published for this period in this country, comprising some 20,000 titles.
